BURNT TEASER 1.jpg““It’s okay, I think I need too. Ya’ know?” He nodded, “We’ll good.  Does that mean you’ll be the one doing the wine and dines soon?” I laughed, “Don’t get too excited that’s a little much for me.”  I watched the baby, “I like being the brains.” Janelle popped back into the picture, “Tomorrow morning at seven-thirty.  It’s at the downtown office near the courthouse.  I’ll text you the address unless you want to ride together.” “I don’t care.  I know where it’s at, we did the building remember.” Janelle tilted her head, “Oh right…” She laughed, “It’s hard to keep up sometimes.”  I raised my eyebrow and looked at Ryder, “And that’s who does our books…no wonder we make so much.” She eyed me and poked the screen. A few minutes later we ended the call.  I went and made something to eat and sat on the couch for the rest of the day.  I wasn’t nervous about the meet and greet, I used to be quite the people person back in the day.  I had been outgoing and always put myself out there.  I knew the name and had read enough about him to know that this wasn’t going to be a hard client to grab.  He had been following our work for years; it had only been a matter of time that he decided to move from the lower class workers to some with real talent like Ryder and myself.  My confidence may not have been in my looks anymore but my work, now that I was sure about.”

About karenwritesmurder

I am a writer, blogger and radio host. I love to read and my love of books has lead me down this path. People tell me I write like Janet Evanovich. I take that as a compliment as I love her Plum books. I feel like Stephanie and Laura could be best friends.
